About the role
As a Designer, you’ll be at the center of how we design our product. You’ll own entire surfaces of the product: viewers, editors, profiles, feeds. You’ll prototype new ideas and bring structure to chaos, designing interfaces that bring the future to the present.
We work in person, 5 days a week in our San Francisco office. Collaboration here is fast, noisy (in the best way), and high-trust. We move quickly, break things intentionally, and fix them just as fast.
What you'll do
Collaborate closely with engineering and product to drive roadmap projects from idea to launch—no assembly lines or hand-offs
Design and implement intuitive ways for new users to interface with 3D graphics on 2D screens
Develop reusable components and own our emerging design system
Spot opportunities to refine our core UX and squash those pesky “paper cuts” that slow users down
Create crisp mockups, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals to bring ideas to life
Help define our approach to UI architecture, scaling, and visual systems
Work closely with our founders, engineers, and customers
Contribute to a product culture that values clarity, speed, and leverage
Qualifications
Product taste: you know when something feels right and why
Systems thinking: you like building primitives, not one-offs
Experience designing and building consumer experiences
Profound Figma experience
2–4+ years experience preferred, but we’re flexible for the right person
Experience with Adobe After Effects, WebXR, and Mixed Reality devices is a massive plus
How we work
We optimize for leverage. That means great internal tooling, fast CI/CD, and code that scales across many customer types
We believe in deep ownership. Engineers here talk to users, design features, and ship fast
We value clarity over process. You’ll spend most of your day building, not waiting on decisions
We move in person. We’re a tight-knit team that moves fast and solves problems together
Competitive salary + meaningful equity
An exciting early-stage startup defining the next generation of culture technology
Strong In-person culture, fast feedback loops, and zero bureaucracy
A small founding team
Full health, dental, vision, 401k, and unlimited PTO
Tools budget, coffee budget, covered lunch and dinner, whatever-you-need-to-be-great budget
About Braintrance Inc.
Human civilization is unfolding at an unprecedented pace. Most of it will disappear unrecorded.
Braintrance exists to preserve the world as it is lived. We are building leapfrog technology for dynamic volumetric media, a new form of digital memory that captures places, objects, and environments in three dimensions instead of flat images or video.
Just as photography defined the last century and video defined the internet era, volumetric media will define the next generation of storytelling. It allows culture, environments, and human experience to be preserved with depth, presence, and context.
At Braintrance, we are building the tools and infrastructure that make this possible. By combining advances in AI, spatial computing, and immersive media, we are enabling a new medium for documenting civilization itself.
This is not just a technology platform. It is cultural technology.
If you want to help define the next primitive of media and are excited by the intersection of AI, culture, and immersive computing, join us.
The pay range for this role is:
100,000 - 200,000 USD per year (Braintrance HQ)
